Joshua Zirkzee urged to leave Man Utd after mistake claim

Joshua Zirkzee has been urged to consider walking away from Manchester United after being told he made a “mistake” by moving to Old Trafford.

The Netherlands forward joined United in the summer but has found himself under early pressure, with his form and role in the side already being questioned.

Dutch legend Marco van Basten believes Zirkzee should think about reversing that decision and removing himself from what he described as the “bad energy” around the club. He suggested the striker would be better off stepping away from the current environment rather than getting dragged down by it.

Van Basten’s comments add to the scrutiny Zirkzee is facing as he tries to settle in at United and make an impact in the Premier League.

The former AC Milan and Netherlands great made clear he feels the move has not put Zirkzee in the best place to develop, and he pointed to the atmosphere and noise surrounding United as a key problem.

Zirkzee will now look to respond on the pitch, with United still searching for consistency and the Dutchman aiming to prove he can thrive despite the pressure that comes with playing for one of England’s biggest clubs.
