Phil Jones has raised eyebrows after refusing to say Erling Haaland’s name while ranking the Premier League’s best players, in a clip that has quickly gone viral.

The former Manchester United defender was put on the spot during a quick-fire video, where he was asked to name standout performers in England’s top flight. But when Haaland came up, Jones stopped short of naming the Manchester City striker, instead choosing to avoid saying his name altogether.

Jones did, however, have no hesitation when it came to goalkeepers. He backed Manchester United’s Senne Lammens, insisting the young stopper is “the top goalkeeper”.

The moment stood out in an otherwise light-hearted segment, with Jones’ Haaland snub becoming the main talking point among fans.

Jones, who spent the bulk of his career at Old Trafford, appeared keen to highlight United-linked talent, and his endorsement of Lammens was delivered with confidence as he picked out his best players from around the league.
