Referee expert says Senegal goal was valid in video review

Morocco's goalkeeper makes a crucial save as teammates defend against an attacking player during a tense match scenario.

A refereeing expert said Senegal’s goal should have stood and described the foul given in the same incident as “imaginary”, after reviewing the play on video.

In his assessment, the expert explained that the Senegal player’s action in the build-up was legal and did not merit a foul, insisting the decision to penalise the move was not supported by the footage.

The comments came as part of a video analysis shared after the match, with the expert pointing to the contact and positioning in the sequence and concluding that the goal was valid, while the foul call was “خيالية”.

The incident has drawn wide debate among fans and analysts, but the expert’s review maintained that the correct decision, based on the replay, was to allow the goal.
